Woman, 31, arrested on 'attempted murder' after 'wading into river with 2 children' before being pulled out of water | The Sun

A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after wading into a river at Cobden Bridge in Southampton with two young children.

The unnamed woman, 31, was seen in the water at Riverside Park with the two young kids at around 3.30pm on Thursday afternoon.

All three people were pulled from the water and were treated at the scene by paramedics.

The incident sparked a major emergency services response with the bridge closed in both directions.

Police say a 31-year-old woman was arrested at the scene.

However, they were unable to confirm the relationship between the woman and children and the ages and genders of the children.
