This Morning fans beg for shake-up as Sam Thompson makes ITV hosting debut

ITV viewers demanded Sam Thompson be made a permanent presenter on This Morning.

The I'm A Celeb winner, 31, made an appearance on the award-winning daytime programme on Monday (December 18) to discuss life after camp. Reuniting with former campmate Josie, 38, Sam opened up about how it felt being crowned King of the Jungle.

He went on to front the show's Spin to Win segment alongside Josie and her co-host Craig Doyle. The Made in Chelsea star's appearance went down well with viewers who insisted he should become a main presenter.

Writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, one viewer demanded: "Hire Sam as the new #ThisMorning host now." A second agreed: "Sam to host This Morning."

A third added: "Imagine Sam hosting This Morning. We would all love the show then because it means someone else can be as happy and hyper in the mornings and not us." Another shared: "#ThisMorning call for Sam to be named new presenter…."

Someone else declared: "Like Toff, this Sam guy is gonna get a reporting role on #ThisMorning." While another echoed: "The new presenters are Josie & Sam."

It comes after This Morning bosses reportedly recruited Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley as the new faces of the ITV show following Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby's shock exits. Since their departure, there has been a number of revolving presenters who have fronted the show.

This includes Emma Willis, Lisa Snowdown and Rylan Clark. But it appears to be Ben and Cat who have caught the eyes of bosses. A source told The Sun: "This is one of the most coveted gigs in UK television.

"ITV execs are determined to get it right. Cat really impressed when she came in, and Ben is a consummate professional and hugely popular with the housewife demographic."

The source also claimed how Cat is the "number one target to replace Holly" –but the insider said that "negotiations are ongoing." They added: "Lots of people were considered, but ultimately it’s all about chemistry."

The publication also reports that Ben and Cat's fee for the show is said to be around £550,000 each. This would make it £150,000 less than Holly and Phil's hefty sum.
