Shining Vales Pat Phelps is shaken and sombre in exclusive season two pictures

Shining Vale returns as Pat (played by Courteney Cox) and Terry (Greg Kinnear) Phelps struggle with reconnecting their broken family, mental illness, menopause, and trauma, as their Connecticut home continues to reveal more of its haunted past.

In season two, the Phelps must battle their demons both internally… and externally.

Something is lurking in the shadows in Shining Vale, and it’s more than just Rosemary (Mira Sorvino), the demon who possessed Pat.

The new series kicks off on Lionsgate+ four months after season one, when Pat’s insurance runs out and she is released from the psychiatric hospital early.

Pat returns home, determined to pick up the pieces of her broken family, but she quickly finds out her children don’t need her, Terry doesn’t remember her and to make matters worse, Pat’s new neighbour Ruth looks exactly like Rosemary.

Meanwhile, the house starts to reveal the shocking secrets of its dark past.

Every mother feels like they live in an insane asylum, but Pat may be right!

Exclusive images show Pat trying to reconnect with her daughter as she stands in their kitchen in faded jeans and a T-shirt.

Another shows her with greying hair, looking sombre while holding onto her pet pooch.

A third photo shows Terry looking upstairs with a worried look on his face – what or who has he seen?

And, in a final image, two nurses are seen holding someone down but their identity isn’t revealed – could it be Pat?

With so much upheaval, can Pat and Terry get their marriage back on track?

Shining Vale co-creator Jeff Astrof said of the renewal for season two: “Sharon [Horgan] and I are thrilled to be able to tell the next eight chapters of the Phelps’ story – especially after the way we ended season one.

“Personally, I look forward to the crushing pressure of trying to raise the bar even further in season two.

“But we can do anything. After all: ‘We are Phelps!'”
