RYAN Thomas put aside his spat with ex wife Tina O'Brien as the family dog suffered a very unfortunate accident.

The former Coronation Street actor, who recently moved into his stunning new home, was subject to an apparent dig by the mother to his eldest child and fellow soap co-star earlier this week.

Ryan, 39, and Tina, 40, stunned fans when they split in 2009 just a year after having their Waterloo Road actress daughter Scarlett, 13.

They were one of the soap's hottest couples on and off-screen, but broke up after six years.

The actor has put the swipe behind him with other issues at home – namely the unfortunate dog getting his manhood stuck in a sleep mask.

Taking to his Instagram Stories to explain the bizarre incident, he filmed the family's reaction and said: "This is the most hilarious story."

In his caption he wrote: "Family lunch turned into operation rescue dog's p***s from sleepy head strap after aggressively humping it."

In the following slide, he reassured fans as he confirmed: "Dog is OK."

It comes after Ryan and Lucy gave fans a tour of their Manchester home.

The pooch incident and copious DIY will no doubt have provided a much-needed distraction for Ryan.

The latest incident between him and mum-of-two Tina follows accusations of a late night bust up last year during which Tina is said to have smashed up Ryan's car with a baseball bat.

Sources say tempers flared at 1am last Sunday after Tina had been partying with pals.

This week, in the now deleted Instagram post, the Sarah Platt actress shared a quote about 'tyrannical narcissistic fathers'.

The quote defined the negative personality trait as "a bully – a cruel, lying arrogant person. He is a tyrant that is totally entrenched in his grandiose world and insistent that everyone follow his commands.

"He is emotionally abusive and can cause significant emotional damage to all family members. Unfortunately, his behaviours cause the relationships within a family to be toxic and can cause lifelong wounds."

Then in her own words, she added: "Thankfully not my dad… but a dad that I know very well… deeply resonates."

The Sun can reveal that the cutting post came after a blistering row between the exes over the telephone.

A source told us: "Tina had a blazing row with Ryan over the phone about their daughter – which ended with her hanging up. They rarely speak these days because they do tend to clash."

Meanwhile, Tina went on to marry Adam Crofts, with whom she has a son called Beau, in 2018, after seven years together, and they invited Ryan to the wedding.
