James Martin stressed out by guests unusual idea as he admits pressure
James Martin being taken aback by a guest’s unusual way of cooking
James Martin met his culinary match in Great British Menu two time winner Daniel Clifford on the latest episode of his hit ITV show James Martin’s Saturday Morning.
Daniel was creating a soup based recipe, and explaining how to swap different vegetables out in the dish, when he asked James to assist him by adding a “beautiful cap of caviar” to one of the elements of the dish.
As James completed the task, he joked: “I feel like I’m under pressure in his kitchen now” and admitted Daniel’s way of doing things had “stressed” him out.
This led his guest to quip: “Now you know how we all feel James.”
The light hearted jibe came after James had been describing his “process” to guest Kaye Adams who said he seemed to have a very mathematical brain.
He explained how he works backwards to deconstruct the recipes.

The 50-year-old, who is best known for running the two Michelin star restaurant Midsummer House, credits Heston Blumenthal as one of his influences and experiments with molecular gastronomy.
Daniel has proved a popular guest chef on the show in the past and James Martin was even forced to apologise after a 2020 appearance caused Daniel’s website to crash when James offered high praise for his food..
He created a stunning dish of roasted scallops, salt baked celeriac, apple salad, marigold and winter truffle, which James said was one to make when you really want to impress your guests.
The chef later tweeted a picture of the “very very special” recipe with his 686,000 followers.
Not long after, Daniel took to the social media site to say that his website had crashed after James’ positive comments.
