ITVs Deal Or No Deal sees UKs hottest copper lose out on major fortune
Deal Or No Deal fans went wild for a contestant once dubbed the UK’s "hottest" copper.
The game show has been rebooted, with Stephen Mulhern hosting instead of Noel Edmonds, and PC Daryl Jones was among the first contestants to take part. He was on Tuesday’s instalment (21 November) of the ITV show, but failed to take home the big bucks.
However, some viewers were totally distracted from the game play because they were so interested in Daryl himself. The PC has had a little taste of fame before – in 2016 he had people joking they wanted him to arrest them when Essex Police shared a snap of him on Facebook.

When he turned up on Deal or No Deal, several people took to X, formerly Twitter, to comment. One person posted a message saying that Daryl was seriously “fit”.
Another agreed: “Wow this police officer on #DealOrNoDeal is a proper 10.” “Hello PC Daryl,” posted someone else, along with a hearts in eyes emoji.
Somebody else wrote: “Lovely to see PC Daryl Jones aka Britain's Sexiest Cop on #DealOrNoDeal.” “Never have I wanted a Police Officer to do so well,” remarked another viewer. “Darryl is such a humble and loveable guy.”
Sadly there was disappointment for Daryl when it came to the game. He had set his sights on the £100,000, and then narrowly missed out on £75,000 and went home with £11,800.
“That feeling when you take £11,800 then find you could have had £75,000!” one viewer posted. Another dropped a sobbing emoji to show what they thought of it.
“Ah that’s a shame for Daryl,” said another. “Glad he got something though.”
Another chimed in: “Daryl had the £75,000 in his box and he dealt at £11,800 but you have still been such a great player, Daryl, well done and still a good amount of money I wish you, your wife and your new baby all the very best for the future :).”
