ITV Im A Celebs Danielle Harolds unlikely link to Jamie Oliver as she details how she began acting

EastEnders star Danielle Harold has revealed her unlikely link to telly chef Jamie Oliver.

On Thursday night's episode of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, Danielle spoke about how she got her role playing Lola Pearce on EastEnders, which won her a British Soap Award following her fatal brain tumour storyline.

The 31-year-old said she used to “constantly apply” for acting roles but did not get anywhere until she applied for Jamie Oliver’s Dream School.

She said: “I applied, the phone rang and it was Jamie (Oliver) ringing my house number. I won a scholarship and with that I met an agent.

“She was like ‘I can’t take you on my books’, three days after she called me up and said, ‘I just so happen to have an audition drop on my table and I’ve got nobody on my books that fits, they want a young blonde girl’.

“I cannot tell you the mad feeling I felt when she said EastEnders.”

Danielle said she “absolutely crumbled” and “freaked out” during her audition.

She added: “I had the script, didn’t know how to learn the script, I just panicked. I cried… she said, ‘Listen I think you’ve got something, come and do some improvisation’.

“They said, ‘Friday by 6pm, if I haven’t called you, you haven’t got it’. It got to 7, 7.30pm then my phone rang. She went, ‘You’ve got the role’…I just could not believe it, so cool.”

become the fifth star to be eliminated from the competition.

Danielle joined Frankie Dettori, Nella Rose, Fred Sirieix and Nick Pickard as the latest star voted out of the jungle after failing to secure the public vote to stand a chance at taking home the crown.

The tense announcement was issued by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly on Thursday, 7 December, as they headed into camp to reveal which two celebrities had received the lowest number of votes from viewers at home.

After a nail biting few minutes, it was confirmed that Tony and Danielle had received the lowest number of votes, with Danielle ultimately being the star sent home after a whirlwind three weeks in camp.

Following the news, fans were quick to take to social media to share their heartbreak at Danielle's exit, with one fan writing: "I had a bad feeling someone good was going to go tonight ahead of Nigel and blimey was my feeling right. I had Danielle in my top 3-4 from the moment I saw the line up. Awful to see her go this early."

Another person agreed adding: "Shouldn’t have been Danielle, should have been Nigel!"

A third viewer weighed in and commented: "I am gobsmacked Danielle has gone and before Nigel as well, people are being silly like last year with Matt Hancock."

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! continues at 9pm.
