Grand Designs' Kevin McCloud stunned by man's four-bedroom treehouse with its own toilet in bungalow's back garden | The Sun
KEVIN McCloud was left speechless by a man's four-bedroom treehouse with it's own toilet in the back garden on the Channel 4 show.
Viewers tuned in to view out-of-the-ordinary builds in a new series of the fascinating house-design show.
Danny wanted to build his dream home in North Lincolnshire on a tight budget of £300,000, with a busy family life.
He shared his vision, and explained that he was trying to achieve a “treehouse concept.”
But things didn't run smoothly as there appeared to be a design error at one point.
After a project that took eight months longer than he had anticipated, the house was finally complete.
Danny brought to reality his solar-powered and infrared-heated four-bedroom tree house hidden in his garden.
It was fitted with "bedroom pods" on steel "stilts" on the side of a fishing pond to encourage his children to spend time with nature, exactly as he wanted it.
The interior design was "far from cheap," as Kevin explained, with sleek contemporary furniture such as grey sofas and grey kitchen hardware.
Host, Kevin McCloud was left speechless at the finished results and he dubbed the build "inspiring".

Danny's revealed that he only spent £26,000 on the inside of the house, leaving the presenter shocked.
"It was a mate… a good friend did the kitchen, the bathrooms, the utility room, the wardrobe, the bedrooms, en-suites, so the full shebang, for £26,00," Danny said.
"It's just so beautiful," Kevin exclaimed.
He continued: "It's so splendid."
The presenter asked: "Is there a bit of you that thinks this isn't mine."
Danny then responded: "It's really surreal."
As he explored the house, Kevin was left open mouthed at the views it had and described them as "breathtaking".
Danny's children then came after to view the house for the first time and they were over the moon.
