Dermot OLeary praises nice group of This Morning hosts after Schofields exit
Dermot O'Leary brands This Morning crew as a 'nice team'
Dermot O’Leary complimented the current five presenters at the helm of This Morning when speaking to Lorraine Kelly on Wednesday morning.
The ITV star was discussing the release of his new book before the conversation moved onto his on-screen chemistry with co-host Alison Hammond.
Dermot and Alison became part of the This Morning family back at the start of 2021 as they replaced husband and wife duo Eamon Holmes and Ruth Langsford.
Since taking over, fans have seen Alison and Dermot share plenty of laughs and have enjoyed the friendship between them.
Speaking about their dynamic on her show, Lorraine said: “You and Alison are like brother and sister isn’t it? It really is very naughty and very cheeky.”

Dermot replied: “I feel very lucky, I’ve known Holly [Willoughyby] for a very long time, we started out on X Factor.”
He praised Holly, 42, who he has hosted This Morning with since Phillip Schofield left. He’s one of four hosts who rotate to present alongside the lead presenter.
Dermot continued: “To be able to do it with Holly and then the last couple of years have that chemistry with Alison and like you said she is like a sister so we have a lot of fun.
“It’s a nice team you know, it’s a nice group of the five of us.

“Me and Craig [Doyle] keep in touch, We had a lovely night at the NTAs together and Josie’s [Gibson] brill, it’s a nice vibe.”
Lorraine highlighted it’s like a second family because of how much time colleagues spend together at work with Dermot agreeing.
Earlier this year, accusations of a toxic working environment started to circulate following Phillip’s exit after admitting he lied about an affair with a younger colleague.
After his departure, former This Morning star Dr Ranj hit out at the broadcaster’s “toxic” culture, which many cast members denied.
In an episode of the show earlier this year, Dermot and Alison addressed the rumours as he said: “ We all know we happen to be in the news at the moment and of course, we appreciate that but just from both of us, the whole team here, the crew, the guys downstairs, we love making this show for all of you.”
Later on, Gyles Brandreth added: “We are very happy to be here, can I say that as well?
“This is a happy place to work, I enjoy coming in here and have done so since I began coming in. We are happy people in a happy place.”
This Morning continues weekdays on ITV from 10am
