Danny Dyer tipped to join Im a Celebrity 2023 as EastEnders co-star drops clue

Danny Dyer has once again been heavily linked to I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

The ITV jungle show is just a matter of weeks away from returning to our screens, and as ever, the line-up rumour mill is pumping out some major names, including This Morning's Josie Gibson and politician Nigel Farage.

Best recognised for his stint as Mick Carter in EastEnders, 46-year-old Danny's name has an added layer of possibility, though, given his co-star Charlie Brooks' recent comments.

"I would pay money, a lot of money, to see Danny Dyer in that shower, and he will kill me for saying that," she told the Loose Women this week, having ran out as the I'm a Celebrity champion herself 11 years ago.

A spokesperson for the broadcaster previously told Express.co.uk: "Any names suggested for I'm a Celebrity are just speculation. We'll announce our line-up in due course."

OK! has contacted representatives for Danny and ITV.

As fans eagerly await an official cast announcement, ex-Brexit Party leader Nigel, 59, addressed the whispers while appearing on GB News earlier this week.

Apparently, he's given "very serious consideration" to an alleged offer "unlike previous years […] I will tell you why – you have got about 10 million young people every night who watch that programme."

JLS singer Marvin Humes is another name tipped to enter the Australian rainforest this month, with an insider teasing: "Not only is he known to fans of The X Factor and fans of JLS, but the audience for The Hit List and This Morning spans from kids right through older viewers. And with [his wife] Rochelle's backing, he's got a ready-made fan base.

"He'll have lots of showbiz stories to tell, too, from his 15 years in the limelight."

Ben Miller of Death in Paradise and Johnny English fame teased his potential involvement while speaking to Sunday Brunch's Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer, too.

"I'm packing for Australia, I go to Australia tomorrow until Christmas, so it's a lot of packing. I'm going to Canberra," the 57-year-old revealed after being asked what he's upto in the immediate future.

"Simon, I didn't know they were doing Jungle in Canberra this year, did you?" joked Tim, 55, to which Ben added: "I'm looking forward to those Kangaroo bits…"

This comes after 2020 winner Giovanna Fletcher exclusively caught up with OK! to discuss her experiences on the programme, which was filmed at Gwrych Castle during the pandemic.

"I’ve always loved the show. When it gets to that really lovely time of year in the lead-up to Christmas and it’s getting darker at night, we snuggle in and watch it," she said, before offering her tips to the famous faces imminently jetting off to the Southern Hemisphere.

"My advice to anyone going in is to just be yourself. You’re there for three weeks so make the most of it and don’t take it too seriously. Because when else are you going to do anything like that again? For me, it was an incredible time in my life, I absolutely loved it."

I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! will return to ITV very soon.
