On Sunday night, Countryfile viewers tuned in to watch Dame Judi Dench join Charlotte Smith on the grounds of Inveraray Castle in Scotland.
During the episode, presenter Adam Henson took a trip to visit Judi’s partner of 13 years and conservationist David Mills.
Heading to the British Wildlife Centre in Surrey, the Countryfile star spoke to David about his aim to help children appreciate and respect native wildlife.
However, the conversation soon turned to David’s relationship with the legendary film star.
He said: “I’ve got to ask, how did a farmer/conservationist end up meeting Dame Judi Dench?”

However, it seemed as though David wasn’t entirely keen on Adam’s formality when speaking about his partner.
Joking, he scolded: “Don’t call her Dame Judi! It’s Jude to everybody.”
Laughing, Adam held his hands up in defence and quickly replied: “Look, I need to be totally respectful!”
After the BBC presenter’s slight telling off, David recalled how he met his partner of over a decade.

He explained: “I saw her coming in with her family, so I obviously rushed out to make myself known.
“Judi said, ‘What a wonderful place this was, is there anything we can ever do to help you?’
“So I said, ‘Yup! We are building a red squirrel walk-through enclosure would you please come and open it?’
“She very kindly said yes and the rest is history.”
David confessed Judi loves the animals at the wildlife centre and often talks to them.
Later on, the Countryfile star was introduced to some of David’s cows on-site, which he confessed were Christmas presents from Judi.
Elsewhere in the episode, the actress became overwhelmed with emotion when spotting two golden eagles with Strictly Come Dancing star Hamza Yassin.
