Channel 4 drops first look at The Piano Christmas special as Claudia reunites with co-stars in emotional scenes | The Sun

CHANNEL 4 has shared a first look at The Piano's Christmas special, which will see the show host and judges reuniting in emotional scenes.

The latest season of the show followed Claudia Winkleman as she hunted for the UK's most talented pianists in train stations across the country.

While aware they are playing to an audience, participants don't realise that they are also being watched by acclaimed pianist Lang Lang and musician Mika.

The judges use the show to find an amateur musician to perform at London's Royal Festival Hall.

This year everyone involved in the programme will travel to the London King's Cross Station to catch up with pianists from season one.

Each person will get the opportunity to play their favourite Christmas songs on the public piano.

Viewers will be also blown away by special performances by multi-Grammy winning artist Gregory Porter, and a finale led by the judges themselves.

And when they're not moved to tears by the power of music audiences will be laughing – most likely at the eccentric getup worn by Lang Lang and Mika.

In the sneak preview provided by Channel 4 the pair is gifted a festive double jumper by Claudia.

They look suspiciously at each other as they open the present, and Lang Lang exclaims in shock as they realise the garment is designed for them to wear together.

The master pianist almost seems lost for words as he exclaims: "Wow! But how? Oh my."

His co-star can be seen chuckling as they try to figure out how to both get the jumper on.

Claudia then joined them in the studio, joking: "Do you like it? I didn't think you guys – I'll be honest – would take to it quite this much. It's alarming."

The moving show recently got the green light for a second series, which is expected to air in the new year.
