BBC Breakfast presenter Jon Kay and Gethin Jones had an awkward moment as they chatted over video link to tease Wednesday's episode of Morning Live with Helen Skelton.

Jon and Sally chatted to Gethin and Helen as they gave a breakdown of what was going to be happening during the festive themed episode, including craft tricks and cooking recipes from Nigella Lawson.

As Nigella spoke about swapping a traditional Christmas cake for a chocolate recipe this Christmas, Gethin shared his opinion, and was clearly unimpressed.

He told Helen: "The jury is out, it is Nigella, but the jury is out," as Helen exclaimed: "What are you talking about, chocolate cake is way better."

Gethin replied: "Christmas cake all the way," as he began bouncing on his seat and singing Christmas cake to the tune of Jingle Bells.

Helen joked: "Behave! I don't want to make it stop, on you go, crack on." as Gethin then told her: "I'll let Noddy do the singing."

Jon then swiped: "You're meant to be encouraging us to watch Gethin," as Gethin quickly hit back: "It's a great show coming up at 9.15 Jon," as Helen started giggling.

Helen was wearing a blue sparking trouser suit, which she paired with bright pink heels for the latest show, and it seems Sally was a big fan of her dazzling look as she rushed to tell her so.

Sally chimed in to say to Helen over the video: "Can I just say I'll keep watching entirely for Helen's suit, I've got proper outfit envy. You win today."

Gethin told Sally and Jon: "I feel underdressed everyday," as Jon quipped: "As long as it's not undressed, that's fine," as Gethin threw his arms up in the air and looked exasperated, before the segment quickly moved on.
