Tottenham 'line up Uruguay star to solve defensive injury crisis but face transfer competition from Newcastle and Villa' | The Sun
TOTTENHAM are considering a swoop for Uruguay international Sebastian Caceres, according to reports.
The Lilywhites were hit with an injury crisis before the recent international break.
Summer signing Mickey Van de Ven suffered a hamstring injury earlier this month and is expected to be out of action until the new year.
Full-back Ivan Perisic is also unavailable with an ACL injury.
And Ryan Sessegnon is among the absentees with a thigh injury.
With several players set for a spell on the sidelines, Tottenham are now on the hunt for defensive reinforcements.

And according to football reporter Mike McGrath, Caceres is considered a target.
The Uruguay centre-back, who plays for Liga MX club America, has just one year remaining on his current contract.
Newcastle and Aston Villa are also understood to be interested in the 24-year-old.
Caceres made his Uruguay debut in a 1-0 defeat to Iran last year and has since starred in nine international appearances.
