Tiny studio for rent in popular London area with bizarre sleeping arrangement
For many of us Notting Hill seems like an idyllic place to live – it’s full of handsome bookshop owners and secret gardens, no?
And now, you can get your hands on a studio in the heart of the desirable London borough – but it comes with a slight catch.
And no, we aren’t talking about the £1,800 pcm price tag or the short let stipulation.
We aren’t even talking about the shared shower room with your neighbours, which at that price seems crazy.
We’re referring to the bizarre sleeping arrangement. It features a strange bunkbed ladder-come-staircase which leads up to a box bed that seems to be literally floating above the sofa.
It is impossible to ignore the odd staircase to the mezzanine-style bed. The stairs start with a ladder that joins onto steps that are connected to the wall.

You wouldn’t want to attempt to get under the covers after one too many pints at the pub, that’s for sure.
The flat, located on Tavistock Road appears to be rather grand from the outside – a quintessential Notting Hill property.
But, inside it appears rather unremarkable – especially for the £1,842 pcm price tag, more than the average £1,200 for the area.
Foxtons describes the property listing, saying: ‘Boasting a fabulous location moments from the trendy bars and shops on Portobello Road, this fantastic studio flat boasts spacious accommodation, high ceilings and a modern kitchen.
‘Tavistock Road is located moments from the fashionable restaurants, shops and bars of Portobello Road, Westbourne Grove and Notting Hill Gate.
‘Ladbroke Grove and Westbourne Park (Hammersmith & City Line) are the nearest underground stations.’
