Prince William has made an impassioned plea to end wildlife crime in a video campaign during his Earthshot trip to Singapore – and fans have compared the royal to his late mother, Princess Diana.
The Prince of Wales, 41, shared a poignant social media clip on Instagram, highlighting the work of the United for Wildlife Global Summit – which he is attending.
‘For almost a decade, United for Wildlife has worked to disrupt the illegal wildlife trade by making it impossible for traffickers to transport, finance, or profit from illegal wildlife products,’ he told an audience.
‘This is a battle that can and must be won.’
The video, shared on his social media account with the Princess of Wales, has already racked up more than three thousand likes.

‘Collaboration is so important in our fight to #EndWildlifeCrime which is why the @unitedforwildlife Global Summit is here in Southeast Asia, one of the regions of the world most affected by sustainability challenges,’ the caption read.
‘From our changing climate to the threats faced by nature from the blight of the illegal wildlife trade.
‘Singapore is a hub for innovators, entrepreneurs, community leaders and problem solvers who are committed to restoring our planet.’
The stirring clip left an impression on fans in the comments, some of whom compared William with Diana, who was known for her charitable endeavours.
‘William is so like Diana when he speaks,’ one wrote.
‘Wish his mother could see him,’ a second added.
Others remarked that the royal will ‘be a great king’, and is ‘doing an amazing job’.
Earlier today, William revealed that his wife hasn’t joined him in Singapore because she is is helping Prince George with his ‘first set of major exams’.

The Princess of Wales, 41, has stayed at home in Windsor while William headed to south east Asia to present his environmental prize.
Speaking at an United for Wildlife summit, the future king apologised for his wife’s absence.
‘I’m delighted to be back in Singapore, it’s been 11 years since Catherine and I enjoyed a visit here on behalf of my late grandmother, for her Diamond Jubilee year,’ he explained.
‘I should mentioned Catherine is very sorry she can’t be here, she’s helping George through his first set of major exams.’
Kate, who has attended the previous two Earthshot awards in Boston and London, is helping her 10-year-old son revise for his upcoming entrance exams.
Last month, the Princess of Wales revealed she is helping George with practice exams.
Kate spoke to pupils preparing for their A-levels exams at the Fitzalan High School in Cardiff, as part of a visit to Wales to mark the start of Black History Month.
George, who is in Year 6 at the Lambrook School in Berkshire, is preparing for entrance exams for secondary school this year.

‘George is just at the beginning of being tested. He says: “Mummy, I keep getting tested all the time,” she said.
After she discussed George’s early experience with exams, she remarked: ‘But when it gets to A-levels you feel like you’re on it.’
Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have joined the co-educational private school near Ascot in Berkshire, after the Wales’ moved to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor’s Home Park.
William and Kate set their hearts on the outdoorsy preparatory school with its 52 acres of grounds for their youngsters where fees will cost them in excess of £50,000 a year and pupils are given ‘feathers to fly’ and a ‘delicious sense of freedom’.

This is William’s first visit to Singapore since 2012 when he came to the country as part of a tour of South East Asia and the South Pacific with the then-duchess of Cambridge
William will also take part in dragon boating, meet Singaporeans to learn how they are working locally to protect the planet, and attend a United for Wildlife summit, aimed at tackling the illegal trade in animal parts.
Robert Irwin, son of the late Australian wildlife conservationist Steve Irwin, will join a host of stars including Oscar winner Cate Blanchett, producer Donnie Yen and actors Lana Condor and Nomzamo Mbatha announcing the winners at the ceremony on Tuesday.
It has now been announced Emmy Award winning actor and producer Sterling K Brown will join Emmy winner Hannah Waddingham to co-host the awards.
Bebe Rexha will perform, award-winning director and producer Donnie Yen will announce one of the five winners and Earthshot Prize Council member Sir David Attenborough will make a video appearance during the broadcast.
