A woman who became a stripper at university after her mum sent her the job advertisement says people have false perceptions of what Babestation is actually like.

New Zealander Beth Bennett has been at the phone sex television channel for almost 12 years and said outsiders assume she's just treated as a sex object by horny customers.

But the model, 37, insisted this was not the case and opened up about one memorable caller who she believes proves otherwise.

It was a bloke called Andy who first contacted her shortly after she joined the saucy company following her big move to the UK.

Speaking to Daily Star about the loyal client, she said: “Andy started calling me and he had recently got divorced and you could tell he was a bit lonely.

“He was very chatty and would call during the day sometimes when it was clean chat and sometimes at night when it was dirty chat and he would webcam and everything.”

This lasted for years and after building a trusting rapport with Beth, he told her he was going to try online dating, which was something she encouraged.

He eventually found a girlfriend but the relationship was half-hearted and both parties were just going through the motions.

As for what happened next, Beth continued: “So he broke up and got a new girlfriend and he was much more enthused and then one day he called and said ‘I am going to tell you that I am deleting my accounts’ and it was just so sweet. Obviously you are losing a good caller but it worked out for him.

“He had Babestation for a few years where it filled a void and everything and now he has moved on and I believe they are engaged or married now because I had him as a Facebook friend. So it worked out nicely for him. I like things like that where you build a real human relationship and friendship with people.”

And Beth said this was something others don’t see when they flick on TV and see the models flaunting their curves while naked on screen.

But she added: “I like when people have called up and they remembered things from other conversations and they have remembered things you like.

“Everyone wants to see it as they don’t really see us as people, people want to see it that you are being treated like sex objects, you are just there for purpose and they then slam the phone down the second they are done but that is not what it is like.

“You are friends with them essentially and you know things about them and they know things about you and you recognise everyone’s voice as soon as they say hello so it is nice.”

Despite Andy deciding to move on from Babestation, Beth still has some of the same callers who first contacted her when she joined as an apprentice over a decade ago.

And in a previous interview with us, she said she actually wanted to be a police officer when she was growing up.

However, she went to university at the age of 17 before obtaining marketing and arts degrees, something she planned to use for a career in advertising.

But she accidentally went down a saucier path when her mum sent her a job application to be a dancer – without realising it actually was for a strip club.

Beth took on the job during her studies before coming to the UK on a two-year work visa where she shifted in a pub in Oxfordshire before joining Babestation where she has been ever since.
