Couple open up about their TWO-FOOT height difference
EXCLUSIVE 5ft woman and 7FT husband candidly reveal how two-foot height difference impacts their SEX LIFE
- At 7ft tall Jason Appleton, 46, towers over his 40-year-old wife Cristen, who is 5ft
- The couple, from Florida, said that the height difference does not bother them
- But they revealed the constant attention has left them ‘uncomfortable at times’
A couple with a two-foot height difference have opened up about the ‘long and short’ of their mismatched bodies.
At 7ft tall Jason Appleton, 46, towers over his 5ft wife Cristen, 40, and while their height difference does not personally bother them they admitted that they are often treated like a tourist attraction by gawking strangers.
The couple, from Florida, explained: ‘On our first night out, we were swarmed with people asking questions and taking pictures – it was like we had just fallen from space.
‘It’s fun for a minute, but it can get uncomfortable at times.’

Cristen, who only comes up to her husband’s chest in height, added: ‘Everyone stares and talks about us every time we leave the house together, especially if I don’t wear heels. But I’m used to it.’
The pair met through a mutual friend on Facebook and Cristen admits that despite snooping on Jason’s page, she never realized he was 7ft tall until their paths crossed in person – although she found him attractive from the get-go.
When the pair spoke, they hit it off and dated for a brief period before cutting things off, but Jason reached out to Cristen around six months later, and after reuniting, they have been inseparable ever since.
Jason explained that he has always had a preference for shorter women because he ‘craves’ the opposite of himself and Cristen admits that at 5ft, she is used to everyone being taller than her.
And there are a lot of areas where the height difference simply doesn’t affect the couple, who admit to being a perfect match with their equally big personalities and sense of humor.
Cristen, who is a salsa dancer, said: ‘I never really felt weird about his height. It never felt strange or was anything I noticed that much.
‘Maybe it’s because I’m 5ft, so everyone is taller than me.
‘I think my family thought it was shocking and hilarious that I found love with Jason, but I needed a big man to match my energy.’

Jason, who works as a cryptocurrency trader and educator, said: ‘People’s reactions depend on where we are.
‘There are places where you’d think I was throwing cash and candy everywhere.
‘Sometimes, we just get a lot of looks, and occasionally, no one cares and keeps to themselves for the most part.’
Jason said of curious strangers’ biggest question: ‘People do wonder how “things work” and I can say, it’s not always easy as I’m physically in two time zones.
‘Cristen just has to pick which hemisphere she wants to visit for a vacation.
‘Honestly, I don’t think either of us really think about the height difference. We are so used to it, but even years ago it was never really a thing.
‘Average us out and we are two normal height people – yin and yang in every way, but we fit.’
Cristen added: ‘Opposites attract. We are opposites in every way. And it works for us.’
But Jason admitted that, invasive questions aside, there are day-to-day downsides to being in a height-gap relationship: ‘There are several things we can’t do easily.
‘I’m generally the purse holder at amusement parks because I can’t ride anything.

‘It’s difficult to dance together and with her being a competitive salsa dancer – I’d love to be able to do that with her but it’s just really uncomfortable for me.
‘I’d say for every challenge there are more benefits though.’
Cristen joked: ‘It’s also hard to kiss. I have to either break my neck or he breaks his back. I stand on something or he sits down while I stand. Of course, lying down it’s fine.
When asked if they had any advice for others in a height-gap relationship, Jason said: ‘I’d tell the tall person to enjoy the ride and watch your step.
‘And I’d tell the short person to not put anything important anywhere low if you ever want the other to see or find it again!’
Cristen advised: ‘I just don’t think the height gap matters. Other than that he puts everything away on the highest shelf whereas I put things on the lower shelves. He’s more cautious with his surroundings.
‘He says I’m like a wild elephant stampeding through the house like a tornado. What can I say? Small people move around quickly.
‘I just know we love each other and see ourselves as each other’s equals and partners.’
