ARSENAL face their second London derby in three days when they travel to Brentford tonight for a thrilling Carabao Cup fourth-round match.

The Gunners were held to a 2-2 draw by their noisy neighbours Tottenham on Sunday after taking the lead twice throughout the entertaining affair.

As for Brentford, they will need to bounce back from a lackluster showing against an out-of-form Everton on Saturday.

    Bees provide sting in the tail of upset

    In the Carabao Cup 2nd round tie at Rodney Parade, Brentford were looking like they were going to be on the end of a cup upset.

    However, Thomas Frank's side managed to beat Newport County on penalties 3-0.

    The two sides had drawn 1-1 during normal time with the minnows getting 96th minute equaliser after Jensen had put the Premier League side ahead.

    Having been dropped for the last few games, Aaron Ramsdale has the chance to remind Mikel Arteta of his capabilities this evening.

    With his competition ineligible to play against his parent club, it can be seen as a big chance for Ramsdale.

    Welcome to Brentford vs Arsenal

    The EFL Cup third round throws up an all-Premier League London derby this evening as Brentford welcome Arsenal to the Gtech Community Stadium.

    Thomas Frank’s side are looking to bounce back from a disappointing home defeat at the hands of Everton on the weekend, while Mikel Arteta tries to juggle a number of injuries after the North London derby, an issue for both managers currently.

    Brentford lost Rico Henry for the season after a devastating knee injury while Kevin Schade tweaked a groin muscle in the pre-match warm up on the weekend.

    Schade is confirmed to be missing for a few months as he prepares to undergo surgery for the injury.

    Shandon Baptiste, Ben Mee, Mikkel Damsgaard and Josh Dasilva are all ruled out for the game too.

    While Ivan Toney continues his eight-month ban, Neal Maupay is cup-tied and ineligible to play in the EFL Cup for Brentford.

    Mikel Arteta is having similar issues with Declan Rice having a back injury while Leandro Trossard missed the game on the weekend due to a muscular injury sustained in training.

    Thomas Partey, Jurrien Timber and Gabriel Martinelli all remain out due to injury for The Gunners and there are concerns over Bukaya Saka who was moving gingerly towards the end of the game with Spurs.

    Aaron Ramsdale will return to the side this evening as David Raya cannot play against his parent club.

    Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith-Rowe, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Cedric Soares and fit-again Mohamed Elneny are all expected to start for Mikel Arteta’s side.
