Instead of opting for fried, boiled or scrambled versions, one air-fryer enthusiast has a versatile recipe that involves baking protein-rich products.

Made from a simple blend of ingredients including vegetables, cheese, eggs, salt and pepper, the formula is ideal for a flavoursome yet simple meal.

Sharing the recipe on the blog Air Fryer World, contributor Todd claimed: “Air fryer baked eggs is absolutely one of our favourite breakfasts. It’s hard to not love these because they’re so easy to make.

How to make air fryer baked eggs

Preparing these baked egg cups takes just minutes, and cooking them is even easier.

Start by spraying the ramekin with oil spray then crack an egg directly into it.

Follow with the milk, spinach and cheese but do not whisk the ingredients together yet.

Frozen or fresh spinach will work, as long as it is either thawed or wilted slightly beforehand.

Add the salt and pepper and any other seasonings to the egg mixture and stir the whites while leaving the yolk whole in each one.

Air fry the ramekins for six minutes at 165C if cooking one at a time, or increase this to 12 minutes while frying two or more at once.

Todd warned: “Cooking in a ceramic ramekin may take a little longer. If you want runny yolks, cook for less time. Keep checking the eggs after five minutes to ensure the egg is to your preferred texture.”
