‘I’m no longer Faye Brookes – I’ve changed my name and rebranded!’ reveals Corrie star
Fresh from her wedding to friend of 16 years Iwan Lewis, former Corrie star Faye Brookes is looking to her future and is rebranding herself with her married name change.
Talking to OK! post wedding, actress Faye, 36, explained: “I’m changing my name and I’m no longer going to be known as Faye Brookes.
“Not a lot of people in the industry do this, but I’m so proud and so excited to see what could come of that idea of introducing myself to the world as Faye Alicia Lewis – which is now my full name."
Faye played Kate Connor in Coronation Street from 2015 to 2019 and has since kept busy on stage and TV, including a successful stint on Dancing On Ice in 2021.
However, Faye told us she's going to enjoy a bit of a break from work following her nuptials on the 23rd August.
“Everyone there [at the wedding] that I’ve worked with is like, ‘What are you doing next?’ I’m like, ‘Nothing,'' she said.
"Maybe it’s a good idea for me to step out of the limelight for a little bit and see what job could come my way. What could be the right thing for me as Faye Alicia Lewis?”
It was a "magical" wedding day from start-to-finish for Faye and Iwan who tied the knot in front of 200 guests at St. John The Baptist church in the Cotswolds village of Shipton Moyne, followed by a marquee reception nearby.
“It was everything I dreamt of and more,” she told us after the event.
“I was lost for words at points during the day, it was amazing,” Iwan added.
The couple, who are currently honeymooning in The Maldives, are looking to their future, with business ventures in the pipeline and hopes to start a family together.
“We’re incredibly ambitious as a couple,” theatre producer Iwan said.
“We are best mates, but also, we’re amazing colleagues. I want the best for Faye in her career and she wants the best for me in mine.
“We’ve got a lot of business ideas; we’re looking at launching a podcast and a media enterprise. Also, we want to have a family. All of the above is possible. I’m ambitious, Faye’s even more ambitious – gosh, we’ll have nine Pomeranians and 14 kids!”
