Holly Willoughby attacked by wasp on NTAs red carpet as she addresses difficult year
Holly Willoughby was attacked by a wasp on the NTAs red carpet this evening, Tuesday 5 September, and the unfortunate moment came just as she was about to speak openly about a difficult year on This Morning.
The 42 year old TV presenter looked incredible as she donned a lilac strapless gown that featured a fishtail skirt and flowed out behind her.
The star looked positively glowing as she was all smiles on the red carpet, and got ready to pose for photos before entering the event.
But just as her assistant fluffed her outfit and checked her makeup, a sudden arrival threatened to derail things.
Holly could be seen jerking back as a wasp suddenly flew at her face and buzzed around her outfit.
Thankfully, the creature left as fast as it arrived, and the presenter was able to focus on smiling for photos instead.
She went on to open up about her experience with This Morning this year, and what has really been going on behind the scenes amid Phillip Schofield's departure from the show.
Speaking to OK! on the red carpet, Holly recognised that there had been "lots of reports" on things over the last several months, and admitted "it's a world I don't recognise".
"I think that we all look after each other that is the honest truth," the mum-of-three went on, and addressed how "difficult" her year has been.
Despite that, the Wylde Moon brand owner explained that she believes people also want things to "move on" now.
"This last year has been quite difficult at times," she said. "You know, if I'm really honest, it's been up and down.
"I think it's been a really difficult year for everybody but what's lovely is you find that people rally around you and, you know, the goodwill is there."
It comes as only a day earlier, Holly reflected on letting go of "negativity" and being positive about moving forward as she shared her latest thoughts with her Wylde Moon subscribers.
As the TV host geared up for attending her first NTAs without her pal and former co-star Phillip, she said: "This week’s lunar phase is the Third Quarter Moon.
"It’s known as a good time to release negativity and any old habits that might be hindering you, which sounds very fitting for the new beginnings that come with the arrival of September.
"Let’s make every effort to shed anything that’s holding us back and move forwards with light, love and positivity," Holly added.
