Executive producer Jason Herbison confirmed in May that Guy Pearce would reprise his role on the soap opera, which was rebooted in April, and is being filmed Melbourne.
‘We are delighted that Guy is returning to continue Mike and Jane’s reunion, it was a highlight of last year’s finale and (there is) definitely more story to tell for these much-loved characters,’ Herbison said in a statement to The Sun Herald.
Pearce returned to Neighbours for the show’s finale in July last year.
His character, along with Jane Harris (portrayed by Annie Jones), was seen purchasing a home on Ramsay Street during the show’s last episode.
The continuation of the long-running soap series about the lives, loves, and challenges of the residents on Ramsay Street in Erinsborough, follows the finale in 2022, which was watched by millions of adoring fans.
And newcomer Mischa has previously promised that her character Reece will liven up the series and bring ‘drama’ to the plotlines.
Mischa also recently revealed it was Neighbours veteran Kylie Minogue who inspired her to accept a role on the iconic Australian soap.
The Hills: New Beginnings star admitted while she had never watched the show prior to signing on she was well aware of its significance because she is a huge Kylie fan.
‘I was familiar with it, probably the same things that most people recognise about the show, like Kylie Minogue and the fun stuff,’ she told the Herald Sun.
‘So when the producers approached me about the role, I thought the character of Reece Sinclair was a very good fit.’
Previous seasons of Neighbours, as well as many iconic episodes, are currently available to stream on Prime Video.
