Angela Rippon scolded by Neil Jones as BBC presenter returns to Strictly
Angela and Kai are ‘back in Strictly studio’
Strictly Come Dancing’s Angela Rippon and her professional partner Kai Widdrington found themselves scolded by Neil Jones during a rehearsal for Saturday’s grand final.
The pair will be returning to the dancefloor alongside other celebrity contestants from this year’s comeptition and took time out to make a quick video for Angela’s social media.
However, when she posted it to X, formerly known as Twitter, Neil can be heard scolding them over a tannoy halfway through the clip. It started out innocently enough as Angela, sitting beside a grinning Kai announced: “We’re back in the Strictly Come Dancing studio.”
“We are. No glitz. No glam. Well not ’til Saturday anyway,” Kai interjected. This led Angela to explain that all the professionals and celebrities were back and learning a routine.
However, she was cut off as Neil’s voice blared out: “The sooner you get on the floor the sooner you get home!” Both looked like naughty schoolchildren and as Angela giggled Kai confirmed that the voice was indeed Neil adding: “We’re learning a dance.”

While most of the celebrities who took part in the show will be returning for a group number during the final Sherlock star Amanda Abbington will be missing.
She has reportedly turned down the opportunity to be part of the show and seemingly her former professional partner Giovanni Pernice will be forced to dance alone following her withdrawal from the spectacle. It comes following her alleged “feud” with the Italian dancer.
A spokesperson for the show told OK!: “Amanda decided to withdraw from the competition, therefore she will not be returning for the final.”
Amanda quit the BBC series in October, later stating she left the competition for “personal reasons”.
It Takes Two host Fleur East announced the news at the time saying: “Amanda Abbington is unable to continue in Strictly Come Dancing and has decided to withdraw from the competition. The show wishes her all the best for the future.”
