A HEATING expert has revealed four hacks to save you money this winter while keeping you warm.
We're all looking to save money on our energy bills and there are some bizarre home hacks you need to try if you want to save cash.
Bubble wrap
Whether you need help insulation your windows or just want to keep your front room warm – here's what you need to try and how much they'll save you.
If you have a flurry of Christmas presents being delivered make sure to save the bubble wrap.
You can reuse it as an inexpensive and effective insulator on windows by taping it onto the frames of your windows.
This extra layer will act as insulation and stop any cold air coming in while keeping the warm air inside.

James Auckland, heating and energy expert at Trade Radiators said: "by insulating your windows it can reduce heat loss up 50% on single glazed or 20% double glazed."
"If you were to cover all your windows in bubble wrap, it would typically save up to £75 over the year, cost of bubble wrap and dealing with condensation issues aside."
Draught excluder
Although these may seem old fashion, a draught excluder is a great way to keep heat in and cold air out in your home.
And you don't have to go out and by loads – you can easily make them at home by wrapping up a blanket or towel into a cylinder and placing it by your doors.

"Typically up to £90 per year based on an average semi detached home with double glazing," said JAmes.
"A draft free home is comfortable at lower temperatures – again depends on the severity of the cause of the draughts."
Shutting rooms
It may sound really simple – and it is.
But keeping doors closed and the heating off in certain rooms can save you money while keeping the rooms you use often warmer quickly.
"Turning the thermostatic valve to frost setting and not fully heating a room can cut the costs of your heating bill in conjunction with the above draught excluder answer," explained the heating expert.
"But also bare in mind added risk of damp and condensation damage and dependant on number of windows and size of room – consider turning it down rather than off, saving you an average of £50 over the year."
Tin foil
We've all heard that tin foil behind radiators can help reflect heat into the room making warm up a lot quicker.
That said, other factors will impact it, such as having furniture too close to radiators.
The heating expert added: "Most effective behind radiators on external walls, foil backed bubble wrap or similar correctly positioned and installed so as to not interfere with the radiator itself can save around £10 per year, again many factors can affect this."
