THE adult entertainment industry is in mourning again after the untimely death of British star Sophie Anderson.
Sophie, 36, passed away just two weeks after her boyfriend – former Crystal Palace footballer Oliver Spedding – also died aged 34.
The mum-of-four, who met Oliver on the set of an adult film, was said to be devastated by his loss.
A cause of death has not been confirmed for either of them.
It is yet another tragedy in an industry that has already seen many other lives cut short prematurely, with nearly a dozen adult entertainers dying recent years – often in disturbing circumstances.
Here, EMMA PRYER recounts some of the most high-profile porn stars to have died young in recent times.

Transgender porn star Angelina Please was found dead in her Las Vegas apartment in March 2022, days after going missing.
A coroner later confirmed the internet sensation, who was just 24, had died of an accidental overdose of cocaine.
Angela, whose real name was Francesca Montalbano, was discovered after her concerned family hadn’t been able to make contact and called police.

She performed in various X-rated titles during her career, with her work earning her a nomination for the Trans Performer of the Year at the 2022 AVN Awards. She also had a popular OnlyFans account.
Her mum, Stephanie, told The Sun she had been taking drugs and the family feared she had consumed “a bad batch”.
Stephanie said: "She was doing ketamine. But they put fentanyl in everything nowadays, just a line is enough to kill you.
"She'd been clean from meth for over a year but she was still dabbling in party drugs.
"I could tell her until I was blue in the face not to do it, and why you shouldn't do it, but she would just hide it from me and I didn't want her to do that."
DAKOTA SKYE
Adult entertainer Dakota Skye was found dead by her husband in a motorhome in Los Angeles, California, in June 2021. She was just 27.
A coroner ruled her death as accidental. She was found to have taken a cocktail of drugs following a battle with fentanyl addiction and a stint in rehab.
Dakota's aunt Linda Arden, 55, told The Sun that her niece had been trolled by other porn stars in the weeks before her death after she posed topless at a George Floyd mural.
She also had a troubled past.
In 2017, Skye – real name Lauren Scott – was arrested after allegedly smacking her then-boyfriend Robert Anderson in the face after sex.
"Her real-life story, and how she came to be in that industry, has truly been a tragedy," Linda said.
"Lauren was a product of a highly dysfunctional family involving drugs, alcohol, physical, emotional, verbal and sexual abuse.
"She was stalked by demons like no one will ever understand unless you've lived it."
In another sorry twist, Dakota died exactly two years after her mother and shortly after losing two grandparents to Covid-19.
OLIVIA LUA
Olivia Lua, 23, was found dead in a West Hollywood rehab centre in January 2018 after battling an addiction to prescription drugs.
She had reportedly suffered a relapse a week before her tragic death and her family had warned of her battle with prescription pill abuse.
In a final Instagram post, the troubled star – also known as Olivia Voltaire – also hinted at her hopelessness.
The young actress, who was born in Philadelphia, shared a photo of herself the day before her death. The caption read: "I feel it everywhere, nothing scares me anymore."
A statement by her agency, LA Direct Models, said Olivia had been facing some "personal challenges" and had been in and out of residential rehab for almost three months.
It read: "Much comment has recently been made on the number of adult stars having passed in the last year and with great sadness we must inform you that the list has grown longer.
“Olivia had not been available for work since early October of last year… She had been out for about a month, hoping to make a return to work in the early part of this yea.r
“Family and close friends said they had deep concern at the volume of prescription drugs prescribed to Olivia and the danger this posed to her.
“If this was mixed with recreational drugs or alcohol, it is believed this to be the cause of her passing.”
DAHLIA SKY
Adult star Dahlia Sky was found dead in a car in California’s San Fernando Valley in June 2021 after battling terminal cancer and depression.
Sky, 31, was discovered with a fatal gunshot wound to her head. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office later ruled that it was suicide.
Sky, who was just weeks away from celebrating her 32nd birthday, had been diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. She was also said to have been homeless and living in her car.
Sky was part of the adult entertainment world for a decade and had around 600 credits to her name, with some of her performances earning her industry awards and nominations.
Stormy Daniels, the porn star who infamously alleged she had an affair with Donald Trump, mourned Sky in a tweet.
"I had the opportunity to direct many many talented performers during my time with Wicked," she wrote. "Dahlia Sky was one of my absolute favorites. She was also a friend. I am heartbroken to hear of her passing."
Adult film producer Hans, who had worked with Dahlia on the 2020 porn movie Always Dahlia Sky, claimed she had been struggling with her mental health, saying at the time: "During her last year, I spoke to her several times about life. It was not an easy ride for her.”
AUGUST AMES
Canadian porn star August Ames took her life in December 2017 – after finding herself in the middle of a controversy over cyberbulling and homophobia.
Authorities confirmed the 23 year-old had died in her home after taking her own life.
In her four years working the adult film industry, August had performed in over 270 scenes for major studios, amassing over 600,000 Twitter followers.
In 2015, Ames- real name Mercedes Grabowski – was nominated for Best New Starlet at the Adult Video News awards and she had been nominated for Female Performer of the year for the upcoming 2018 AVNs shortly before her passing.
Her shock death came just two days after she was mercilessly trolled for refusing to shoot a porn scene with a "crossover actor" – someone who has unprotected sex with both men and women.
The star was branded homophobic but hit back, stating she was bisexual herself.
"NOT homophobic. Most girls don’t shoot with guys who have shot gay porn, for safety," she tweeted.
"That’s just how it is with me. I’m not putting my body at risk, I don’t know what they do in their private lives."
August had suffered from depression in the months leading up to her death and took her own life just 20 minutes away from the home she shared with her adult film director husband Kevin Moore.
OLIVIA NOVA
Adult film star Olivia Nova died in January 2018 when a urinary tract infection spread to her kidneys and turned to sepsis.
Olivia, 20, lay dead in her bedroom for 12 hours before she was discovered.
Her room in Las Vegas was strewn with medication for kidney infections and UTIs.
Olivia – real name Lexi Forde – had apparently been warned by doctors that her "days were limited" unless she quit a serious drink addiction.
In the months before she had turned to friends for help getting sober.
Devastated by the death of her boyfriend Nolan in 2017 from a heroin overdose, she is said to have turned to alcohol to cope.
Close friend Jimmie Romero said: "She said she wanted to change her lifestyle – she looked in my eyes and said to me, 'I want to stop and change my life. I have a family that loves me'."
Lexi had spent the last few days of 2014 in hospital after getting behind the wheel of a snowmobile drunk, which resulted in a horrific crash that injured her face.
At the time, Lexi posted a picture of herself lying in a hospital bed with a neck brace on and blood encrusting her nose and mouth.
She captioned the photo as a warning to her friends: "So thankful to be alive. Thank you for all of your prayers everyone, I hope you all take it to heart when I say it's never going to be worth it to drink and drive."
BILL BAILEY
Popular American actor Bill Bailey plunged four floors to his death in a freak accident – after an apparent all-day drinking session at a hotel in March 2018.
The 38-year-old actor – who had starred in more than 2,000 adult movies – fell over a railing in a stairwell at the plush Hotel Grand Prix on Rio in Mexico City and died on impact.
He had been in town for Mexican sex festival Expo Sexo y Erotismo 2019 with girlfriend AJ Applegate – also a porn actress – and a group of pals.
In a former life, Bill had served in Iraq.
