MANCHESTER UNITED star Raphael Varane has posted about \u201cego\u201d and \u201cmindset\u201d in a lengthy LinkedIn post.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And it\u2019s sparked an invite to Jake Humphrey\u2019s High Performance Podcast.<\/p>\n


\n<\/p>\n

Varane, 30, is in his third season at Old Trafford following a \u00a334million move from Real Madrid in 2021.<\/p>\n

However, the Frenchman is way down the pecking order under Erik ten Hag.<\/p>\n

He has made just nine Premier League appearances for United this term.<\/p>\n

And with Varane\u2019s contract up next summer, he could soon be set to leave as a free agent.<\/p>\n

It read: \u201cThe journey to the top is something that requires a significant amount of strength. There are so many factors that go into becoming a professional player, and even more to have a successful career.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIn Europe, less than 1% of players who begin in academies as children will make it to professional level.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe numbers are even smaller when you narrow it down to the amount that play for their countries, and in the Champions League.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAccording to Fifa, there are an estimated 130,00 professional players worldwide with 211 Fifa registered nation teams. Based on this, approximately 5275 (4.06%) players play for their country.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWith 32 Champions League registered teams, approximately 800 (0.64%) play in the Champions League – both numbers based on a 25 player squad per team.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cAs someone who has played at both levels, I feel extremely lucky to have done so. I also know what is required to get here. A critical element of reaching the top level is making the right decisions for yourself.\u00a0<\/p>\n
