{"id":135660,"date":"2023-12-18T15:26:27","date_gmt":"2023-12-18T15:26:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bluemull.com\/?p=135660"},"modified":"2023-12-18T15:26:27","modified_gmt":"2023-12-18T15:26:27","slug":"kate-garraways-husband-faces-critical-heart-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bluemull.com\/celebrities\/kate-garraways-husband-faces-critical-heart-attack\/","title":{"rendered":"Kate Garraways husband faces critical heart attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/dynamic\/79\/590x\/secondary\/Kate-Garraway-5121292.jpg?r=1702911532096\"><\/p>\n<p>Kate Garraway\u2019s husband has suffered a major heart attack which left him fighting for his life.<\/p>\n<p>Derek Draper, 56, has been seriously ill since contracting Covid in the early days of the pandemic in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Good Morning Britain host Kate, 56, has cancelled all TV and radio work to keep a vigil at his bedside.<\/p>\n<p>A source close to the family said: \u201cDerek suffered a massive heart attack which has left him fighting for his life all over again.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was sudden and a shock as he had been doing well and was in great spirits, looking forward to Christmas.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe just hope there will be some more positive news soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Derek spent 13 months in hospital, making him Britain\u2019s longest-suffering coronavirus victim.<\/p>\n<p>Kate \u2013 who has daughter Darcy, 17, and son Billy, 14, with him \u2013 revealed in October her husband was not doing well and his health battle had left him with organ damage and requiring 24\/7 care at home.<\/p>\n<p>A month earlier, she had admitted: \u201cI\u2019d love to be able to tell you that, since Derek has been home, everything has been easy, that the miracle of him being at home has turned the day-to-day challenges into a breeze.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut because we keep having emergency setbacks and he has had to be rushed to hospital, the fear of him dying has never left us.
