Darts ace Rusty-Jake Rodriguez threw his arrows off stage during his clash with Cameron Menzies in the opening round of the PDC World Darts Championship.

The Austrian made a poor start and found himself two sets down as Menzies took control early on. The entertaining Scotsman played up to the crowd as he landed his second-successive set-winner, forcing Rodriguez to turn away from the oche in disgust.

He let his frustration get the better of him by tossing his darts down to the ground, with one of them falling off the stage and down towards the Ally Pally crowd. The 22-year-old then slapped his head as he walked of stage, with fans on social media insisting he was "rattled".

Menzies wrapped up a 3-0 win minutes later to make a perfect start to the tournament and send Rodriguez home. The 34-year-old, who is a professional plumber, went viral ahead of their first round clash after uploading a photo of himself fixing a sink to social media hours before he was due at Ally Pally.

He wrote: "Working both the world's. What a joy," before adding: "Plumbing at 11 darts at 8. Finished."

Menzies has advanced to the second round of the competition where he'll face 11th seed Dave Chisnall. He took part in the PDC World Darts Championship for the very first time last year, and was knocked out in the second round.
