{"id":135484,"date":"2023-12-14T16:45:19","date_gmt":"2023-12-14T16:45:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bluemull.com\/?p=135484"},"modified":"2023-12-14T16:45:19","modified_gmt":"2023-12-14T16:45:19","slug":"drunk-nurse-who-knocked-father-of-three-6ft-in-the-air-struck-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bluemull.com\/world-news\/drunk-nurse-who-knocked-father-of-three-6ft-in-the-air-struck-off\/","title":{"rendered":"Drunk nurse who knocked father-of-three 6ft in the air struck off"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1> Drunk nurse, 34, who knocked father-of-three 6ft in the air with her car moments after she was kicked out of a nightclub is struck off<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Charlotte Brown, 34, drove her VW at three-and-a-half times the drink drive limit<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Mark Davies, 48, was left with &#8216;life-changing injuries&#8217; after the crash<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Brown was kicked out of a nightclub for her behaviour less than an hour before<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Mr Davies lost the use of his right arm and is unable to walk without support<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A nurse who knocked a man 6ft in the air on a drunken night out, has been struck off.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Charlotte Brown, 34, drove her black Volkswagen Polo at three-and-a-half times the drink drive limit before she smashed into Mark Davies.<\/p>\n<p>Self-employed joiner Mr Davies, 48,\u00a0had been walking home from his night out on January 28 when Brown&#8217;s VW ploughed into him at around 40mph.<\/p>\n<p>The father-of-three was left with &#8216;life-changing injuries&#8217;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Brown, who has been registered as a mental health nurse since September 2017, was kicked out of\u00a0Club One47 due to her behaviour less than an hour before she got behind the wheel.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/14\/15\/78964565-12864329-image-a-70_1702568672678.jpg\" height=\"634\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Charlotte Brown was jailed for 16 months and handed a two year and eight month driving ban<\/p>\n<p>She briefly stopped before she drove off and crashed outside a magistrates court as her car flipped on its roof.<\/p>\n<p>Passers-by attempted to help her following the smash &#8211; but she ran away from the scene and was arrested at her boyfriend&#8217;s home.<\/p>\n<p>She claimed to have no memory of what happened until she was pulled from her upside-down vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Davies suffered such serious injuries that he spent the following three-and-a-half months after the incident in hospital.<\/p>\n<p>It caused him severe head and brain injuries, multiple facial fractures, and deep injuries to his thighs.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/14\/15\/78964571-12864329-image-a-71_1702568676752.jpg\" height=\"1127\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Mr Davies was left with\u00a0severe head and brain injuries, multiple facial fractures, and deep injuries to his thighs<\/p>\n<p>He has also lost the use of his right arm, cannot speak properly, and is unable to walk without support.<\/p>\n<p>Brown, a mother-of-one who had no previous convictions, was struck off for a minimum of 18 months in a disciplinary hearing by the Nursing and Midwifery Council hearing.<\/p>\n<p>She had earlier been jailed for 16 months in Caernarfon Crown Court.<\/p>\n<p>Brown, of Llandudno Junction, pleaded guilty to drink driving, causing serious injury by careless driving and failing to stop after a road accident.<\/p>\n<p>Defending Lisa Judge said the night was not a reflection on the &#8216;true Charlotte Brown&#8217; who is a mum-of-one and a nurse.<\/p>\n<p>The court heard Brown had written a letter of apology to the Davies family.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Nicola Saffman said they were some of the &#8216;most serious&#8217; injuries she&#8217;d ever seen.<\/p>\n<p>Brown was jailed for 16 months and handed a two year and eight month driving ban and was ordered to complete an extended driving test.<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-12864329\/Drunk-nurse-knocked-father-car-nightclub-struck-off.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read Full Article<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Drunk nurse, 34, who knocked father-of-three 6ft in the air with her car moments after she was kicked out of&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.8 -
