Good Morning Britain star Richard Arnold has dropped some heavy hints that he could sign up to next year's I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

On Thursday, 14 December, the ITV showbiz reporter returned to the studio for the first time since reporting on this year's series of I'm A Celebrity from Australia and addressed rumours that he could be going back as a campmate in 2024.

Hosts Ben Shephard and Charlotte Hawkins wasted no time in asking whether Richard, 54, might be on the inside of camp next year getting showbiz exclusives from his famous co-stars.

They showed a clip of I'm A Celeb hosts Ant and Dec on the show's set wishing Richard a happy birthday earlier in the series and asking: "How about celebrating your birthday in camp next year? There's a hammock waiting for you…"

Richard told Ben and Charlotte: "You would love nothing more. Would I (do it)? It's a stellar invite from Ant and Dec.

"I am at a time of life where if one door opens you walk through it – if your knees can make it. So I don't know."

Richard isn't the only Good Morning Britain star who has been rumoured for the jungle – earlier in the year, before the campmates were announced Susanna Reid told viewers that many of her co-stars were convinced that she was going to be taking on the reality show.

It also isn't the first time Richard has been linked to a reality series, as in 2012 he took part in Strictly Come Dancing where he partnered Erin Boag and made it to week seven before being eliminated.

Richard took part in Let's Dance for Comic Relief with his GMB co-star Kate Garraway in 2010 and returned for the 2011 series too, as well as competing in the first series of Celebrity MasterChef in 2006 and also having taken part in a celebrity special of Stars In Their Eyes.

He has just arrived back in the UK after covering the most recent series of I'm A Celeb, won on Sunday by Sam Thompson who was pictured arriving back at Heathrow Airport on Wednesday to hugs and kisses from his girlfriend Zara McDermott.

This year's campmates also included runners up Tony Bellew and Nigel Farage, This Morning presenter Josie Gibson, and former EastEnders star Danielle Harold.
