Love Story and Peyton Place star Ryan O'Neal has died at the age of 82

His son, Patrick, announced the news, sharing: "So this is the toughest thing I’ve ever had to say but here we go. My dad passed away peacefully today, with his loving team by his side supporting him and loving him as he would us."

A blazing star of Hollywood's golden era, Ryan not only captivated audiences with his charismatic performances in classics like What's Up, Doc?, Paper Moon, and Barry Lyndon, but also ruled as a quintessential heartthrob. His life, however, was more than just silver screen magic; it was a whirlwind of high-profile romances including his relationship with the stunning Farrah Fawcett. Their romance was the talk of the town from 1979 to 1997, and their rekindled connection from 2001 until her tragic passing in 2009 was nothing short of a real-life love story.

Beyond the limelight and love affairs, Ryan's personal life was filled with family and moments of quiet pride. He shared the big screen in Paper Moon with his daughter Tatum O'Neal, showcasing a charming father-daughter duo that won hearts.

Ryan's allure wasn't limited to the screen; his dating history is a glamorous roll call of some of the most beautiful and celebrated women in Hollywood, including Ursula Andress, Barbra Streisand, Bianca Jagger, Jacqueline Bisset, Joan Collins, and Diana Ross.

His legacy lives on through his four children and five grandchildren. His son Patrick added: "My father Ryan O’Neal has always been my hero. I looked up to him and he was always bigger than life. He is a Hollywood legend. Full stop.

"I hope he felt proud of his career but he was very humble. And boy did he love the crew on those shoots. He always treated everyone on the set so well. They loved him, I saw it first hand," he continued.

"Ryan never bragged. But he has bragging rights in Heaven. Especially when it comes to Farrah. Everyone had the poster, he had the real McCoy," Patrick wrote of his father. "And now they meet again. Farrah and Ryan. He has missed her terribly. What an embrace that must be. Together again.

"I’ll miss you dad. I love you. We love you."
