I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Nigel Farage’s reported £1.5 million payout for the show has been questioned by Richard Osmond and Marine Hyde, who claimed he was “boring”.

As this year’s highest paid contestant, presenter Richard and journalist Marina discused whether they believed he was worth the price – and the pair had mixed views.

Marina claimed that the former UKIP leader was a “good booking for ITV” as it’s brought people into the show who may not have watched it before, but doesn’t believe he’s “a fantastic contestant”.

Richard went on to say that he doesn’t believe reality shows do people who “are not particularly likeable” any good, but believes Nigel has set himself up as “the man of the people”.

“The beautiful thing about reality TV is, you can try and be whatever you want, but people will find you out,” the former Pointless host added.

You might like me more, you might dislike me more, but you will at least find out.

“The best way to handle conflict is to tackle it head-on. I dealt with snakes in the European Parliament, I can cope with this too.”

Just a day into the new series, Nigel was faced with questions over his Brexit policy by First Dates star Fred Sirieix.

As part of their heated exchange, Fred claimed Brexit was about immigration, telling Nigel: “I remember your poster. I thought it was shameful what you did Nigel. Shameful.”

Farage replied: “Sadly, sadly it was absolutely true. It was a poster showing mass young men moving illegally across borders.”
