{"id":134621,"date":"2023-11-28T12:31:48","date_gmt":"2023-11-28T12:31:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bluemull.com\/?p=134621"},"modified":"2023-11-28T12:31:48","modified_gmt":"2023-11-28T12:31:48","slug":"crane-collapses-and-smashes-into-building-at-leith-construction-site-as-worker-rushed-to-hospital-the-sun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bluemull.com\/world-news\/crane-collapses-and-smashes-into-building-at-leith-construction-site-as-worker-rushed-to-hospital-the-sun\/","title":{"rendered":"Crane COLLAPSES and smashes into building at Leith construction site as worker rushed to hospital | The Sun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A WORKER has been rushed to hospital after a crane collapsed and smashed into a building at an Edinburgh construction site.<\/p>\n<p>The equipment plunged onto the roof of an under-construction building on Stead\u2019s Place in Leith.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/11\/hearts-v-st-johnstone-pic-862580496.jpg\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/11\/image-41.png\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/11\/image-42.png\"><\/p>\n<p>Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud crack before the crane arm came crashing down.<\/p>\n<p>Scores of emergency crews were scrambled to the scene, and one person had to be raced to the New Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.<\/p>\n<p>Photos show the mangled wreckage of the equipment sitting on top of the roof.\u00a0 And scaffolding at the bottom of the building has been smashed by falling debris.<\/p>\n<p>One eyewitness who witnessed the collapse called emergency services as soon as it happened.<\/p>\n<p>He told The Scottish Sun: \u201cI was on Leith Walk when I heard this crack.
