FRENCH and Saunders icon Dawn French has shared a health update with fans after undergoing major surgery.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The award-winning actress opened up about her condition and told fans: 'Now we start healing'.<\/p>\n

Vicar of Dibley star Dawn has revealed that she has had knee replacement surgery for her osteoarthritis condition.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The TV star posted a picture of her bandaged leg from a hospital bed on her X(Twitter) account with her 610,000\u00a0followers.<\/p>\n
She captioned the post: "New knee is in! [clapping emojis]."<\/p>\n
The 66-year-old has previously opened up about suffering from osteoarthritis, a painful condition that can cause stiffness and pain while affecting the joints.<\/p>\n
Fans rushed to the comment section to support the star, as one user advised: \u201cGood luck. From double experience, do the physio to the max and don't skimp on the pain relief needed to actually do the physio!\u201d<\/p>\n Another joked: \u201cTake it, kneesy Dawn,\u201d with a kiss emoji.<\/p>\n A third said: \u201cWoo-hoo. Sending fast and hassle-free healing wishes. You'll be trotting about in no time.\u201d<\/p>\n A fourth commented: \u201cGet well soon, Dawn. Take care, and good luck with the rehab.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI know it takes about six weeks for wounds and bone to start settling and six months before mobility is near normal.<\/p>\n \u201cHope you have a speedy recovery and all goes well.\u201d<\/p>\n During a Radio Times interview in December 2020, the comic actress spoke about her rheumatoid arthritis.\u00a0<\/p>\n She explained then: "It\u2019s a privilege to get older, but it\u2019s not for wusses.<\/p>\n "Things go a bit wrong\u2026 your rheumatoid arthritis knee stops you walking your dog a long way every morning.<\/p>\n "You know you\u2019ve got to have a little op on that at some point, and you\u2019ve got to take six weeks off\u2026<\/p>\n "But ultimately, it ain\u2019t so bad.
