A Kenwood stand mixer with brilliant reviews has been discounted on Amazon for Black Friday.

Originally £479.99, the appliance is now discounted by 55%, and costs just £217.49!

The Kenwood kMix is mostly out of stock in blue from other retailers. However, John Lewis sells a red (£229.99) and cream version (£200), while Kenwood's remaining stock is priced between £229 and £239.99.

Amazon has five colours of the mixer available at reduced prices: pastel blue, pastel pink, red, cream, and black. Each comes with a five-litre bowl, a K-beater, a balloon whisk and a dough hook.

The kMix has a 1,000w motor that uses a 'planetary' action to mix ingredients. There's also a fold function for desserts like brioches and mousses.

If you need inspiration on what to use the Kenwood kMix for, Mary Berry's Baking Bible is currently down to £15 from £28. It's got more than 250 recipes, and has 4.8 stars from 277 reviews.

The Kenwood appliance was a hit with shoppers. One person said: "I have had a kMix for three years now and have just bought this newer model for my sister. They are just the best machine I have ever owned. I make bread about 3 – 4 times a week and do not have the strength or stamina required for all of that kneading.

"The kMix with its dough hook does it all for you in 10 minutes. All the ingredients in, ten minutes on just under number 1 then straight into a bowl for proving. It is so easy, the machine doesn't move across the work top like some cheaper lighter mixers do and it mixes every bit effortlessly."

Others called the machine "beautiful," and one reviewer wrote: " I should have bought this in the first place, it is solid, doesn't jump around, the cover stays put, and it is quiet."

However, a few people complained of issues with the bowl's locking mechanism. One person said: "Unfortunately on the very first use the glass bowl was difficult to detach from the mixer body. This appears to be a common problem (see other reviews), though it's one Kenwood say is fixed in the latest variant of this model."

You can buy the Kenwood kMix from Amazon, John Lewis, and Kenwood.
