Coleen Nolan reacts to Alfie and Phil EastEnders storyline<\/h3>\n

EastEnders’\u00a0Alfie Moon (played by Shane Richie) has a monumental moment in his battle with prostate cancer this week when he goes to have his first hormone injection.<\/p>\n

Having finally come to terms with his diagnosis he is still dreading the treatment.<\/p>\n

However, spoilers released for Monday\u2019s episode by the BBC show that the ordeal is made easier when his ex-wife, the now Kat Mitchell (Jessie Wallace) agrees to attend the appointment with him.<\/p>\n

While he doesn\u2019t express it, he is privately thrilled that she is there for him at this difficult time.<\/p>\n

Although Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) has been hugely supportive, even accompanying him to hospital appointments last week, she is currently dealing with the return of her rapist Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) to Albert Square.<\/p>\n

Despite the fact that Kat is now married to Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), she and Alfie have really bonded since he opened up about his illness.<\/p>\n

However, he initially lied to her about having cancer claiming that he got the all clear and the truth only came out when he got into an altercation with Phil right before he was due to marry Kat.<\/p>\n

Opening up to the hardman he explained what he was going through and he subsequently disappeared to Spain for several weeks to come to terms with it.<\/p>\n

Having returned last week Kat helped him tackle the difficult job of telling the children and has been very supportive.<\/p>\n

Alfie was diagnosed with the disease back in August and the BBC soap is working alongside Prostate Cancer UK and Macmillan Cancer Support on the storyline.<\/p>\n
