A CRICKET star pulled off a stunning sextuple-wicket maiden to hand his team victory in a miraculous achievement.

Australian cricket team Mudgeeraba Nerang and Districts third grade needed something special to win their match against Surfers Paradise CC on Saturday.

Surfers Paradise needed just five runs to win from the final over as they chased down a target of 178 that the hosts set.

To make things more difficult for Mudgeeraba Nerang, the batting side still had six wickets in hand.

However, captain Gareth Morgan took the ball for the last over and completely flipped the script as he skittled the batters.

With his first ball, he took the wicket of the opening batter, Jake Garland, who was caught at deep mid-wicket.

Connor Matheson then fell in the next ball as he was caught by Orey Finn at mid-on for a golden duck.

Morgan – who had already top scored for his team with a rapid 39 – then completed his hat-trick as Michael Curtin was then caught on his first ball.

Surfers Paradise still had three balls to get five runs, but Morgan's brilliance continued.

He made it four wickets in four balls as Wade McDougall was caught off his bowling by Armaan Sidhu at point.

CASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO WELCOME OFFERS

Morgan then finished the match by bowling both of the last batters, Riley Eckersley and Brodie Phelan, sparking celebrations for the home side.

Following his heroics, Morgan revealed that the umpire was left in shock after witnessing the bowler's once-in-a-lifetime feat.

He told the Gold Coast Bulletin: “It is funny, the umpire said to me at the start of the over that I needed to take a hat-trick or something to win the game.

“When it happened he just sort of looked at me.”

Morgan's achievement has since gone viral on social media, leaving many fans in disbelief.

One fan hailed: "Morgan should never have to pay for another beer at the club."

A second commented: "That’s an impressive last over."

A third posted: "Did wonders for G Morgan's bowling figures."

A fourth wrote: "Morgan cleaned em up."

A fifth said: "I hope G Morgan did not buy a drink all night."

A sixth added: "Build the man a statue."

Another joked: "I can only imagine the panic of 9-11 all sitting in their shorts and things and having to pad up."

Morgan ended the game with figures of 7/16, having already taken a wicket earlier in his six overs.

</picture>HOT WHEELS
