Well-loved Indian TV actress Dr. Priya has died of a heart attack at just 35 years old while she was eight months pregnant.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The expectant mother reportedly died while she was in hospital for a routine checkup on October 31, and had suffered a ‘sudden’ cardiac arrest there.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Her newborn baby is currently in an ICU at a private hospital after doctors managed to save it, according to her co-star Kishor Satya, who she worked with on the drama Karuthamuthu, who broke the news in an Instagram\u00a0post.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He said of the passing of his co-star: ‘Last night while going to the hospital, the sight of sadness rained in my mind.’<\/p>\n
A doctor by trade, Dr. Priya was one of the most popular actors working in India.\u00a0Local media reported she worked at the PRS hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, in the southern state of Kerala.<\/p>\n

She reportedly took a break from work while she was pregnant to spend more time with her family.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Her death is the third in a string of unexpected deaths among Indian TV figures.\u00a0<\/p>\n
On Monday, Indian TV star,\u00a0Renjusha Menon, committed suicide in a flat she shared with her husband Manoj, a fellow actor.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Menon, who was just 35 when she died, was known for her supporting roles in several TV shows and movies including ‘City of God’, ‘Marykkundoru Kunjaadu’, ‘Bombay March’ and ‘Karyasthan’.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The actor, who is survived by her father C. G. Ravindranath and mother Umadevi, was reportedly going through severe financial difficulties at the time of her death.\u00a0<\/p>\n
And in September, actor Aparna Nair also committed suicide in her flat at just 33 years old. She is survived by her husband and two children.\u00a0<\/p>\n
