One of\u00a0Matthew Perry<\/strong>\u2019s best remembered onscreen parents is opening up after his death.<\/p>\n

On Monday, Kathleen Turner<\/strong> spoke with People<\/em> after hearing about the beloved actor\u2019s tragic passing, remembering fondly:<\/p>\n

\u201cHe came to see one of my Broadway shows and he came backstage. When he saw me, he yelled out, \u2018Hey dad\u2019 and everyone thought it was pretty cool. I think it was for Who\u2019s Afraid of Virginia Woolf<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans of Friends<\/em> will know Kathleen famously played Chandler Bing\u2019s father — a transgender woman on the show. And while they may not have seen each other for \u201cat least 10 years,\u201d Kathleen says she always \u201cliked him.\u201d She shared:<\/p>\n

\u201cHe had a good sense of humor and a good heart. He liked other people, which, to me, is terribly important, especially for an actor. It\u2019s extremely sad when you think about how young and a pity he couldn\u2019t get more control.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking of the core Friends<\/em> cast, the 69-year-old added:<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t imagine the pressure those guys lived under being a worldwide phenomenon. It must have been overwhelming.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, the Romancing the Stone<\/em> actress remembers the six — Matthew, Jennifer Aniston<\/strong>, Courteney Cox<\/strong>, Lisa Kudrow<\/strong>, Matt LeBlanc<\/strong>, and David Schwimmer<\/strong> all being incredibly “tight knit.” She shared:<\/p>\n

\u201cI need to emphasize that these kids were a tight group. I was more in and out of life. They were a clique, all of them. They were a very tight knit group.\u201d<\/p>\n

How sweet.<\/p>\n

While Kathleen herself may not have been on the show too frequently, she says she\u2019s still recognized because of her iconic role:<\/p>\n

\u201cI am still constantly recognized by a certain age group as Chandler\u2019s dad. I met somebody last night and she said, \u2018Aren\u2019t you a movie star?\u2019 I said, ‘Yeah, but before your time.’ And she said, \u2018Well, where would I know you from?\u2019 and I said, \u2018Chandler\u2019s dad.\u2019 She said, \u2018Oh, my God!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

In that way, she\u2019ll always be connected to Matthew. <\/p>\n
