Matthew Perry posted the final photo with his dad just weeks before the Friends star’s death at the age of 54.<\/p>\n

Taking to his Instagram account on October 15, the actor posted a heartwarming photo alongside his dad John Perry, 82, within the last two weeks of the Friends star’s life.<\/p>\n

“Here is me, and my father John, both holding a beverage,” he wrote alongside the image, in which the pair were seen with cups of soda, in view of his 8.1 million followers.<\/p>\n

Fans were quick to point out that Matthew, who played Chandler in the 90s sitcom Friends, also had his dad make an appearance on the popular show.<\/p>\n

John had guest-starred on a 1998 episode of the sitcom called The One With Rachel’s New Dress.<\/p>\n

In the episode John played the wealthy father of Tay Donovan’s character Joshua, the steamy boyfriend of Jennifer Aniston’s Rachel.<\/p>\n

He preceded his son in the acting profession, enjoying a notable run as The Sailor in Old Spice commercials in the 1970s and 1980s.<\/p>\n

Speaking about his childhood in his memoir, Matthew revealed that as a result of his dad’s career he mainly got to watch him on screen.<\/p>\n

“That was mostly the way that I saw my father when I was young,” the sitcom icon wrote in his memoir. “On TV shows, and you know, getting shot through a door on Mannix, or something like that. That’s my Dad.”<\/p>\n
