ANTHONY JOSHUA is in impressive shape as he prepares to return in December.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The former heavyweight champion is on a mission to reclaim his belts.<\/p>\n


\n<\/p>\n

Joshua, 34, recently went on a four-day darkness retreat in a bid to "build character".<\/p>\n

The \u00a32,000 exercise saw the Brit cut himself off from the outside world – with "no phone. No TV. No radio. No audiobooks" and no human contact.<\/p>\n

If AJ is feeling better mentally following the retreat, he is also in excellent physical shape.<\/p>\n

Joshua posted a picture of himself looking chiselled in the gym last night alongside coach Derrick James.<\/p>\n

Fans marvelled at Joshua's post, with one commenting: "Yess Champ looking in Tremendous Shape looking absolutely Hench."<\/p>\n

A second gushed: "Proud of you AJ."<\/p>\n

While a third wrote: "Back in the lab."<\/p>\n

Joshua has been linked with a mega-bout against fellow former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.<\/p>\n

Appearing at the Formula 1 last weekend, AJ said: "The next window will be in March-April, so that\u2019s probably when the undisputed fight will happen.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we are being told is they want to make it a mega card and they like the sound of Joshua v Wilder on the same night."<\/p>\n

Promoter Eddie Hearn blamed Wilder for a previous deal for the pair to fight falling through.<\/p>\n

The Bronze Bomber subsequently said on Instagram: "Another thing I want to address is a fight that everyone is looking forward to and hopefully happens.<\/p>\n

"I\u2019m doing everything in my power to make it happen \u2013 I\u2019m referring to the Anthony Joshua fight.<\/p>\n

"So Anthony \u2013 you\u2019re hearing it from my mouth \u2013 I\u2019m here, I\u2019m ready, I\u2019m ready to go.<\/p>\n

"I heard some things\u00a0your promoter\u00a0said that my last fight only lasted a short period of time and I ain\u2019t fought in a year and he don\u2019t know if I want to fight or not.<\/p>\n

"I\u2019m letting you know right now, right here, I\u2019m ready to fight man."<\/p>\n

Joshua plans to return in December against an unnamed opponent, before potentially facing Wilder in the spring.<\/p>\n
