Abbey’s career in the spotlight started when she appeared on Britain’s Next Top Model in 2006 and started dating Peter Crouch that same year.

A few years later, the duo officially tied the knot in 2011 and now share three children together – daughters Sophia, 11, and Liberty, seven, and sons Johnny, four, and Jack, three.

However, Abbey is not the only contender in the running for the presenting role as Channel Five presenter Storm Huntley emerged as a front-runner earlier this week.

Scottish TV presenter Storm Huntley, 36, is understood to be a favourite to take on the job. The TV star presents segments on Channel 5's Jeremy Vine programme and also has her own spin-off of the show called Storm Huntley.

Storm started off as a researcher at the BBC before taking on a meteorology course at the Open University to become a weather presenter.

Addressing the rumours last week on social media, Storm laughed them off, saying: "Very flattering, but I think there may be a scheduling issue there."

ITV has not yet confirmed who will be taking on the sought after role, however, a number of showbiz names are said to be in the running, such as Alison Hammond, Rochelle Humes, Josie Gibson, as well as Kate Garraway and Davina McCall.
