Chloe Madeley and James Haskell welcomed their daughter Bodhi in August 2022 after two years of marriage, and have documented their journey as a family ever since on social media.

However, in a recent episode of Giovanna Fletcher'sHappy Mum Happy Baby podcast, 36-year-old Chloe revealed she was "panicked" after coming over contraception for years but never falling pregnant.

The star, who is daughter of TV icons Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, said: "I'd been on the pill since I was 16 and when I reached 31 my gynaecologist encouraged me to come off it. James and I weren't sure if we wanted kids or not – we really liked our life just the two of us.

"In 2020 we'd been married for two years and wasn't on the pill. I remember waking up one night thinking 'I haven't had one pregnancy scare'. I was like 'What is going on?'"

Chloe then revealed it caused her to wonder what was going on with her body and sought advice from her gynaecologist again.

"They told me, 'you're not going to 'just get pregnant' – at that point I was 34. They said, 'you have to really try'. So I started things like ovulation tests."

It was this point that Chloe admitted made her really want kids, despite being unsure before if she and former Rugby player James wanted to expand their family.

She explained: "I then went home to my husband and said that we needed to decide if we were having kids or not. As soon as the choice was taken away from me, it made me really want them. James, at first, was like 'alright' [laughs] but he's so happy we did now."

Like many others, the process of conceiving wasn't plain sailing for the couple as the personal trainer told wife of Tom Fletcher, Giovanna, that they "carried on trying for a good six months but nothing was happening."

"It made me panic," Chloe continued. "I'd had all my fertility tests done and they told me I was textbook fertile. My hormones and reproductive system were all fine. Then my gynaecologist said on the days I wasn't bleeding to go have sex."

The star then revealed they continued to try, using the advice given, and two months later excitedly fell pregnant.

Chloe said: "Now I have a little nutcase running around my house. It's brilliant."

When Bodhi first entered the world, the family exclusively shared the news with OK!. At the time, Chloe and James, 37, said of their new bundle of joy: “We are delighted to welcome to the world our daughter. We are utterly besotted and beaming with pride”
