A SAVVY mum has revealed she slashed the cost of her wedding by nabbing a second-hand wedding dress on Vinted for just \u00a320.<\/p>\n

Jemma Pinches wanted to look the part on her big day without the hefty price tag, so decided to shop online for her all-important gown.<\/p>\n


\n<\/p>\n

After using the second-hand site to source her children\u2019s clothes, the mum-of-four thought she\u2019d try her luck with finding a wedding dress.<\/p>\n

And little did she know that she\u2019d find her dream dress for so cheap.<\/p>\n

Sharing her discovery to her 17k followers on TikTok, the 36-year-old detailed how she felt \u201ca million dollars\u201d in the bargain buy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI knew I had champagne taste and a lemonade budget so opted to go with looking on Vinted,\u201d accounts executive Jemma says.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just thought I\u2019d have a quick browse to see if people sold on their dresses used or unused.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just kept looking until I found the perfect one \u2013 it is a risk because you haven\u2019t tried it on, but I was willing to take the risk to save \u00a31k.\u201d<\/p>\n

With the cost of living affecting childcare costs, bills and mortgages, she \u201cdidn\u2019t want to spend what she didn\u2019t have\u201d on a pricey gown.<\/p>\n

However, Jemma still had a niggling worry in the back of her head that the dress would be completely different to the one advertised online.<\/p>\n

I moved my family into a tatty old pub – we love having parties in the bar<\/h3>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

She said: \u201cIt was always in the back of my mind, would it be different to the pictures?<\/p>\n

\u201cWould it be very poor condition or ripped, would it smell? But also, would it fit?<\/p>\n

\u201cI trusted my gut with this one.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her friends and family couldn\u2019t believe how much money she had saved, with people asking to see evidence that she managed to find such an unbelievable deal.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one believed I got such a bargain, I had to keep getting my phone out to show them my Vinted transaction," Jemma added.<\/p>\n

Once she nailed her budget dream dress, she focused on keeping her big day as low cost as possible, with a surprising hack to keep the wedding celebrations cheap.<\/p>\n

Jemma got legally married on a Wednesday, which only cost \u00a345 with two witnesses.<\/p>\n

She saved the majority of her budget for the celebration with her friends and family.<\/p>\n

\u201cI found a venue that looked good and needed minimum decorations and was cheap," she explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cI booked it as an \u2018evening party\u2019 rather than a \u2018wedding\u2019 \u2013 as soon as you say the wedding word everything gets expensive!<\/p>\n

\u201cI got the room and table decorations off an exchange site, a kind lady gave me them all.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy daughter also wore a Vinted bridesmaid dress that happened to come in a bundle anyway, my sons and husband wore matching outfits we had already, and it all came together nicely!<\/p>\n

\u201cDoing the ceremony and party separately saved us \u00a31k and I\u2019d do it again tomorrow \u2013 it was so stress-free!\u201d<\/p>\n

Sharing her top tips for other brides-to-be, Jemma suggested looking on second-hand sites and Facebook Marketplace to source decorations and outfits for members of your wedding crew.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook on Vinted or Facebook etc for all bits, veils, table decs, bridal belts, bridesmaids and page boy outfits," she recommends.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s all on there, barely used, and for a fraction of the price.<\/p>\n
