{"id":131903,"date":"2023-10-09T19:27:45","date_gmt":"2023-10-09T19:27:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bluemull.com\/?p=131903"},"modified":"2023-10-09T19:27:45","modified_gmt":"2023-10-09T19:27:45","slug":"woman-forced-to-flee-after-huge-swarm-of-ladybirds-lay-siege-to-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bluemull.com\/world-news\/woman-forced-to-flee-after-huge-swarm-of-ladybirds-lay-siege-to-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman forced to flee after huge swarm of ladybirds lay siege to home"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Woman is forced to flee after huge swarm of &#8216;tens of thousands&#8217; of ladybirds laid siege to her home<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Artist Margaret Yescombe said the ladybirds were worse than poisonous spiders\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A woman said she was forced out of her home by a swarm of ladybirds laying siege to her house.<\/p>\n<p>Margaret Yescombe, 42, from Ickleton, in Cambridgeshire, woke up on Saturday morning to find that &#8216;thousands&#8217; of the insects had forced their way in.<\/p>\n<p>She found them collecting on her bedroom window and the swarm was so large and the insects so bold that she was forced to flee her home until they left.<\/p>\n<p>The 42-year-old left around 3pm in the afternoon and returned at 5pm at which time, thankfully, the insects had left by the time she returned.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/09\/19\/76348077-12611707-image-a-46_1696875025179.jpg\" height=\"845\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Margaret Yescombe, 42, from Ickleton, in Cambridgeshire (pictured) said she was forced out of her home<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/09\/19\/76348079-12611707-image-a-49_1696875087123.jpg\" height=\"357\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>This is the second time Margaret&#8217;s home has been besieged by the creepy crawlies<\/p>\n<p>Margaret who is an artist, said: &#8216;I got up in the morning and I saw them on the window.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I was pretty annoyed because I had to get my cat inside and they swarmed on me.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;There were thousands, maybe even tens of thousands.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;They come in and they all crawl up into a corner and huddle there. They make a smell when they do that.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;They&#8217;re so creepy. You don&#8217;t feel when they land on you so you only notice they&#8217;re there when you feel them crawling on you.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;You just notice an itch and find another one somewhere.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>This is the second time Margaret&#8217;s home has been besieged by the creepy crawlies.<\/p>\n<p>The same thing happened in 2016 and Margaret believes the ladybirds come from a nearby farmland.<\/p>\n<p>Margaret said: &#8216;There&#8217;s my house, a hedge, a road, another hedge and then farmland.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/09\/19\/76348073-12611707-image-a-50_1696875101209.jpg\" height=\"1150\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Margaret is not squeamish around insects and has lived comfortably around them in the past<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/09\/19\/76348075-12611707-image-a-51_1696875107750.jpg\" height=\"357\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The artists thinks that\u00a0ladybirds are worse than poisonous false widow spiders as they have no fear and will comfortably land on people<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I suppose they want to shelter because there&#8217;s no shade in the fields and my house is the first one they come across. They always seem to come from there.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Margaret is not squeamish around insects and has lived comfortably around them in the past.<\/p>\n<p>But she thinks that ladybirds are worse than poisonous false widow spiders as they have no fear and will comfortably land on people.<\/p>\n<p>She said: &#8216;I live in the country and I&#8217;m around bugs a lot. I had a false widow near my toilet for ages. It has a pretty nasty bite, but it kept to itself.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I felt a tickle in my ear last night and I was scared that a ladybird had got in there. There was a woman who had one for years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Most bugs run away but ladybirds will just land on you. They have no concept of personal space.
