Laurence Fox, the British actor who has starred in Lewis<\/em> and White Lines<\/em>, has been fired from GB News and arrested on the same day.<\/p>\n

GB News said on Wednesday that it had “ended its employment relationship” with Fox after he was suspended last week for a misogynistic rant about female journalist Ava Evans.<\/p>\n

Fox’s GB News rant, in which he claimed no “self-respecting man” would “climb into bed” with Evans, has become the most complained about moment on British TV since 2021. He has since apologized to Evans for his remarks.<\/p>\n

Laurence Fox Arrest<\/h2>\n

Fox’s firing came shortly after he was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit criminal damage to controversial low-emission zone cameras in London. <\/p>\n

Hours earlier he streamed what appeared to be a police raid on his home. The Reclaim Party, the populist political party Fox launched in 2020, posted the footage on X (formerly Twitter) in which the actor claimed that police were seizing items from his home.<\/p>\n

It followed Fox declaring his support for the “Blade Runners” group of Ultra Low Emission Zone (Ulez) vigilantes in an interview with former LBC radio host Maajid Nawaz on Rumble.<\/p>\n

“I encourage them to tear down every single camera there is and I will be joining them,” the suspended GB News host said on Tuesday. “I am pretty close with several and I will be out there with my angle grinder.”<\/p>\n

The Metropolitan Police said in a statement: “Officers arrested a 45-year-old man on suspicion of conspiring to commit criminal damage to Ulez cameras and encouraging or assisting offences to be committed.<\/p>\n

“He was arrested in Stockwell and has been taken to a South London police station where he remains in custody.”<\/p>\n
