The beloved coffee giant is a staple on British highstreets and can also be found in its express format in some supermarkets.<\/p>\n

And with 2,000 sites nationwide, most households live within close proximity of a Costa Coffee cafe.<\/p>\n

However, that could soon change as part of a wave of closures planned by the company which has already seen several stores close.<\/p>\n

So far this year it has closed eight sites in total, with the most recent one boarded up for good on September 22.<\/p>\n

The closures are far from over with a ninth coffee\u00a0shop scheduled to close in November.<\/p>\n

Coffee lovers in Malvern, Worcestershire, will lose one of its two Costa branches on Friday, November 17.<\/p>\n

The Church Street site will cease trading for good and hand over its customer base to the sister cafe in the nearby retail park.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the coffee giant said: “The Costa Coffee store on Church Street in Malvern will close for trade on November 17, 2023.<\/p>\n

“Customers can continue to enjoy their favourite Costa coffees in Malvern on Roman Way.”<\/p>\n

Fans of the high street chain have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the Costa closures, which have joined other major brands in reducing their site portfolios.<\/p>\n

One person wrote on Twitter: \u201cTories have crashed the economy. McDonald’s, Greggs, Costa Coffee, pubs, and restaurants are closing and those still open are very, very quiet.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another opined: \u201cSo many costas are closing though sucks but makes sense it\u2019s very expensive.\u201d<\/p>\n

The loss of the Malvern store follows eight other cafes in locking their doors for good.<\/p>\n
