ZOE Ball has revealed the terrifying moment firefighters rushed to her property after she left a candle burning while nobody was home.<\/p>\n

The BBC Radio 2 presenter, 52, made the shock confession on today's breakfast show.<\/p>\n

Zoe told how she had left a candle "smouldering" from the night before in her living room – and praised the emergency services team for "stopping my house burning down".<\/p>\n

It came during a segment in which listeners were revealing things that had happened to them for the first time.<\/p>\n

Zoe said: "Something that happened to me for the first time was that yesterday, the fire brigade went to my house.<\/p>\n

"I had left a candle burning in the lounge.<\/p>\n

"I was so obsessed with The Matrix and the fact that I had made a cake on Sunday, I had gone out and hadn't blown out one of the candles.<\/p>\n

"It was left smouldering in the lounge and at 9.25am my smoke alarms went off and thank goodness!<\/p>\n

"Otherwise I might have gone home to no home!"<\/p>\n

She continued: "Thank you to my neighbour Abs and my gorgeous Em who called the fire brigade and I'd like to give a big shout-out to Duncan and the Uckfield boys, Joe and Cameron and Steve, who went around, put out the candle and stopped my house from burning down."<\/p>\n

Back in February, Zoe and her beau\u00a0Michael Reed\u00a0packed up their bags and moved down the road to their new pad in Lewes.<\/p>\n

The pair moved from a\u00a0stunning \u00a31m cottage\u00a0in Ditchling, East Sussex\u00a0to the popular country town which is just eight miles away.<\/p>\n
