By Kieran Davies
Ramsdale with chance to stake claim

Having been dropped for the last few games, Aaron Ramsdale has the chance to remind Mikel Arteta of his capabilities this evening.

With his competition ineligible to play against his parent club, it can be seen as a big chance for Ramsdale.

Despite not being involved this evening, weirdly Raya is still on the pitch still warming up with the team.

Credit: PA

18 minutes agoBy Kieran Davies
Bookies fancy Gunners' victory

Despite the numerous changes made by Mikel Arteta, Arsenal are still heavily fancied to progress to the next round of the Carabao Cup.

Despite the necessary rotations this evening, they will still feel they have enough to win the tie.

It will be a true test of the depth of quality in North London as they face Thomas Frank's side in the cup at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Credit: Getty

52 minutes agoBy Kieran Davies
London calling once again for The Bees

Brentford head into their fourth London derby of the season.

Having faced Crystal Palace, Fulham and Tottenham this season it is becoming a weekly event.

Frank’s side are unbeaten in all their London derbies this season and will be hoping to continue this by the end of the evening.

53 minutes agoBy Kieran Davies
Frank assessment of squad depth

Brentford are going through a real injury crisis at the moment, particularly in the final third of the pitch.

Thomas Frank will have to shuffle his pack this evening, with one eye on the Premier League, as he will not want to go into their next league match with any more players missing.

Knowing Arsenal are likely to play a much changed side offers the chance of progressing in the EFL Cup but at what cost to The Bees.

53 minutes agoBy Kieran Davies
Arteta in need of silverware

Having spent a lot of money in the summer, the owners will want to see results.

While many Premier League managers look down upon domestic cups, chasing the riches of the Premier League and European competition there is a lot to be said for having trophies in your stadium.

This is a realistic trophy to win for Arsenal, however, with a much-changed side they could go the way of other sides who think they can win it with reserve teams.

55 minutes agoBy Kieran Davies
Welcome to Brentford vs Arsenal

The EFL Cup third round throws up an all-Premier League London derby this evening as Brentford welcome Arsenal to the Gtech Community Stadium.

Thomas Frank’s side are looking to bounce back from a disappointing home defeat at the hands of Everton on the weekend, while Mikel Arteta tries to juggle a number of injuries after the North London derby, an issue for both managers currently.

Brentford lost Rico Henry for the season after a devastating knee injury while Kevin Schade tweaked a groin muscle in the pre-match warm up on the weekend.

Schade is confirmed to be missing for a few months as he prepares to undergo surgery for the injury.

Shandon Baptiste, Ben Mee, Mikkel Damsgaard and Josh Dasilva are all ruled out for the game too.

While Ivan Toney continues his eight-month ban, Neal Maupay is cup-tied and ineligible to play in the EFL Cup for Brentford.

Mikel Arteta is having similar issues with Declan Rice having a back injury while Leandro Trossard missed the game on the weekend due to a muscular injury sustained in training.

Thomas Partey, Jurrien Timber and Gabriel Martinelli all remain out due to injury for The Gunners and there are concerns over Bukaya Saka who was moving gingerly towards the end of the game with Spurs.

Aaron Ramsdale will return to the side this evening as David Raya cannot play against his parent club.

Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith-Rowe, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Cedric Soares and fit-again Mohamed Elneny are all expected to start for Mikel Arteta’s side.
